Job Description
Responsible for patient access activities for hospital-based patient care. Assumes responsibility, accountability and provides leadership for daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, strategic planning and supervision of Patient Access directors and managers. Serves as the liaison for Revenue Cycle and Patient Access activities with Hospital Administration. Develops policies and procedures related to all Patient Access matters for the organization. Responsible for ensuring alignment of Patient Access services at each hospital. Position has significant strategic and financial impact on current and future success of Sentara Hospitals. System responsibility for Patient Access development and oversight. Responsible for the coordination of delivery of high quality best practice services to meet or exceed customer satisfaction expectations. Coordinates the Patient Access component in the development and marketing of new services and strategic planning for service, to include all educational needs. Contributes to the success of the hospitals through achievement of system, hospital and divisional goals. Provides leadership and administers human resource policies and practices in a multi-skilled, multi-functional environment.
