About the Opportunity
DMI is seeking a full time Electronics Technician IV to support a Federal customer with specialized engineering, application, and operational tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Electronics Technician will be responsible for building rack-mounted computing and storage systems, and they will be responsible for installing these systems in field offices. Will work with video recording and management systems with varying hard- and soft-ware configurations. Will frequently take calls from customers --located throughout the country --that may need real-time trouble-shooting with systems that could have a variety of root problems to address. Will sometimes need to disassemble malfunctioning or out-of-date hardware, both in the lab and in the field, and fix or update these systems. Will run and terminate various network and power cable types, both in the lab and during active installations.
Education and Years of Experience:
The position requires at least five years of experience as an electronics technician or a similar technical background. A candidate without five years of experience shall have a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field (engineering, engineering sciences, physics, computer science, chemical or biological sciences, etc.) and at least two years of work experience in a technical field. The technician shall be able to handle the physical demands associated with installing rack-mounted servers, network equipment, building equipment racks, climbing ladders, and running cables. The ideal candidate would have a working knowledge of information technology systems, radio/antenna and/or cellular systems, video management systems, imagery collection sensors and systems, and database management systems.

Expected Travel Time: 20%. Expected to provide field office assistance, as needed
