Under limited supervision of the Technical Director, the Control Room Operator Team Leader provides primary leadership support to the 24/7 Remote Operations Control Center Team (ROCC). This leader ensures safe operations, superior customer service, regulatory compliance, high productivity and industry leading efficiency. Responsibilities - Lead a ROCC team to successfully meet objectives safely, efficiently, productively, on time and within budget at superior quality levels. - Budgetary development and management responsibility for team. - Execute strategic development plan for team. - Employ and nurture continuous improvement using AES APEX approach and tool set. - Assume accountability of team performance and drive transparent metrics. - Provide leadership to team as a coach and mentor. - Supervise ROCC day-to-day operations & provide direction, priority, resources and clear communications across all three shifts. Qualifications - Bachelor s Degree or higher required (BSEE or BSME preferred) - Excellent supervisory skills including: coaching, conflict resolution, performance development, effective delegation & motivating leadership - Proven successful experience with continuous improvement methodologies and tools including: DMAIC, PDCA, RedX - High level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) & Minitab - Strong analytical ability and successful track record leading teams and projects to completion - Experience with documentation control systems: SharePoint, Docushare - Experience creating, editing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS). - Experience leading a team in a 24/7 environment - Experience working in a control room required - 10 years of professional work experience required. - Experience/familiarity with NERC Reliability Standards & Critical Infrastructure Protection preferrerd - Wind energy industry experience preferred - PJM System Operator Certification Preferred.
