Responsibilities:

- Participate in the preparation of the FAS109 tax provision calculation and FIN 48 analysis for financial statement purposes

- Participate in the preparation of the federal consolidated tax return, state and local income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimates

- Perform research and participate in various tax projects as needed

- Respond to federal, state, and local tax notices

- Support IRS and state tax audits, including preparing responses to requests for documentation

- Provide tax information and respond to questions generated from internal Capital One departments

- Occasional day travel to Richmond, VA

- Travel to other company sites as needed

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree

- 2 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

- Tax experience in public accounting and/or financial services strongly preferred

- MS in Tax or JD

- CPA

- Strong communication, research, and writing skills

- Strong analytical skills developed through experience in an accounting, planning, or forecasting role
