Sr. Android Mobile Applications Developer

The best media player ever (Winamp www.winamp.com) is looking for a passionate mobile application engineer to help develop the Winamp experience on Android and other platforms. Winamp for Android launched in Oct, 2010 and already has 2 million downloads. We are looking for an Android developer who can help us take the app to the next level and beyond.

As a member of the Winamp technology team you will be working with a variety of technologies to create a world-class mobile application and other services. We are looking for a software engineer to work with the team that is revitalizing the Winamp media player, building powerful web services and innovating on new mobile platforms and cloud services. Job Description:

Performs design, development, testing, documentation, and analysis of the Winamp Android application. Assignments include development of new features, tablet support, 3rd- party integrations, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.

Duties include designing applications, writing code, completing programming, developing and executing testing and debugging routines, and documenting work and results. Must be willing to work with a geographically diverse team.

Required Skills:

* Qualified candidates will have 5-7 years of Java programming experience

* 1+ years of experience in Android development

* Must have built and shipped an Android app

* Strong object oriented programming and design skills

* Strong skills in multi-threading programming.

* Knowledge of relational database and strong SQL skills.

* Experience interfacing with backend web services and strong skills in XML.

* Familiar with design patterns in application development

* Well versed in agile development

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss technical concepts with non-technical personnel

* The ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects in a fast- paced, but fun environment

* Enthusiasm, personality, teamwork and a positive attitude count tremendously

Desired Skills:

* A passion for working on media related products and services

* A working knowledge of Winamp -- audio/video codecs, music oriented metadata, skins, and other media players

* Experience working with source control systems in a collaborative environment, such as CVS (or SVN)

* Experience with JavaScript , HTML, CSS, JSON and PHP a plus
