A Senior Consultant in Lewin's States and Payers practice is a senior-level consultant with responsibility for contributing to project teams on a variety of engagements. The States and Payers group works with the federal and state governments, health plans, associations and foundations, and health systems to design, build, operate, and monitor innovative strategies to improve access, quality, and cost-effectiveness, primarily in the Medicaid and CHIP programs. Additionally, we conduct evidence-based research to guide future Medicaid and CHIP program development. We also help our clients develop options for expanding health care coverage, from incremental approaches through comprehensive health reform.
Senior Consultants actively participate in all aspects of client work including proposal development, project planning and execution, team management, client presentations, and issue resolution. Senior Consultants are responsible for managing multiple priorities and strict timelines and completing and delivering work products in agreed-upon timeframe within contracted budgets. They manage and develop client relationships, as evidenced by positive client feedback and client engagement with repeated business. Finally, Senior Consultants are responsible for managing a matrixed team and for direct supervision and professional development of junior consultants.
We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant to provide analytic and consulting support for CMS and state Medicaid programs on a variety of program integrity-related activities, including managing projects to identify and reduce sources of improper payments and contributing to efforts to improve Medicaid data collection to support program integrity work. We are looking for an experienced project manager with knowledge of state Medicaid programs and experience working with Medicaid data. Experience with MMIS systems, MSIS data, Medicaid financial reports, and Medicaid program integrity are highly desirable.

Skills / Requirements
Requirements:
- A graduate degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration, Business, Economics or related field from a competitive program
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting in health care and/or health policy research/analysis
- A minimum of 3 years experience working with public programs such as Medicare and/or Medicaid.
- A minimum of 3 years experience organizing and supervising the work of others and/or being a lead on major projects.
- Experience at the Federal, state or service delivery level strongly desired.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks
