THERE ARE TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE. WE ARE CONSIDERING BOTH JUNIOR AND SENIOR LEVEL CANDIDATES.
To provide satellite communication systems engineering support to the Chief Scientist of the Managed Network Services department. The support includes:
* Writeup of technical proposals for end-to-end satellite communication services, mostly in DoD environment.
* Creation of RF satellite link budgets, calculation of link availability, and generation of transmission plans.
* Troubleshooting and finding resolution on RF interference issues.
* Filings of terminal licenses.
* Interface with space segment, teleport, terrestrial, and equipment providers to keep up-to-date what is available and help technical proposal team select candidates for proposals.
Training will be provided for junior engineer. Senior engineer contribution is expecting after time to settle in.
Required Skills
Education:
* BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
* Advanced degree desired.
* Courses in satellite communication, numerical methods, C/Fortran programming, TCP/IP desired
Required Experience
For the senior engineer, one or more of the following is required:
* Proposal writing in DoD environment
* Satellite link design, preferably through working for a satellite operator
* RFI trouble shooting and mitigation
* Terminal filings with knowledge of ITU and FCC/NTIA's rules and regulations
* COTS subscribed services such as Inmarsat, Linkway, iDirect
