We are currently recruiting for a Specialty Benefits- Sales Rep to sell our Ancillary benefits products in the 2 to 3,000 employees market segment. This individual will be selling life, disability, dental, vision and critical illness. This sales position will be responsible for building productive relationships and partnering with Brokers to consult on new business opportunities. Present a unique bundled product approach providing user friendly and flexible solutions to prospective clients. Sell our products and services through broker distribution channels as well as UHG distribution channels. Leverage cross selling opportunities.
Will work heavily with brokers directly and coordinated effort with UHC health plan.

Must be based out of our Richmond, VA office. Territory will include all of Virginia outside of Northern VA.

Skills / Requirements

- College degree or equivalent work experience in the group insurance industry.
- Minimum 2 years industry experience (ancillary products).
- Microsoft office proficiency.
- Comfortable in presenting to groups.
- Self motivated and disciplined and detailed oriented.
- Demonstrated relationship management skills.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skill.
- Requires underwriting, financial and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and listening skills; telemarketing experience preferred.
- Excellent training skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of benefits.
- State Life and Health Insurance License required.
- Maintains a valid driver's license.
- Travel as required.
- Demonstrated sales skills and selling ability.
- Demonstrated ability to be collaborative with sales team and agents.
- Ability to navigate UnitedHealthcare internal departments to produce positive service results for clients and the company.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client and producer relationships; customer focused approach.
- Anticipates problems and develops contingency plans.
- Ability to complete assigned major job objectives, with limited direction and supervision.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, planning and organization skills.
