Level: Principal Associate

The Mortgage Accounting Team within the Controller's group is looking for a Principal Associate to join the team and help manage accounting for complex transactions involving mortgage loans. This role will have responsibilities associated with the Company's month-end closing, reconciling general ledger accounts and financial reporting processes. The role will report to the Mortgage Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will be able to coordinate with peers in the business and in Finance. In addition, this role requires ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment.

Responsibilities:

- Direct ownership of routine accounting or data process flow including review of journal entries and account reconciliations

- Potentially manage a small team of associates.

- Interpret & operationalize financial data/ accounting policies related to owned processes.

- Identify issues, track & make alternative resolution suggestions for matters concerning owned process.

- Develop strong relationships with peers external to owned process, including Home Loans Finance and other areas.

- Display technically proficiency on subjects (accounting or analytical) related to owned process.

- Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.

- Manage projects

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree

- 4 years of experience in Accounting

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- CPA
- 5 years of experience in Accounting
