Payroll Processor (USA)-711096
Description
Responsibilities:
Performs daily tasks related to payroll processing including, but not limited to, new hire information entry, W4 entry, processing of overpayments, terminations, retroactive payments, payroll adjustments, reconciliations, stop payments and pre-notes.
Under direct supervision, prepares a variety of files to be interfaced.
Performs reconciliations of payrolls, deferred compensation.
Inspects automated system output for errors and makes necessary corrections in the system.
Assists other Capital One teams as required, to resolve errors and maintain or update accurate information in the payroll system.
Assists the Tier I contact center representatives in handling and following up on inquiries related to time entry and payroll processing:
- Under direction of team lead, provides information in areas where policy, procedure or requirements are unclear
- Handles telephone calls and inquiries requiring detailed knowledge about the payroll processes
- Performs a variety of regularly scheduled and ad-hoc audits of the payroll data to maintain compliance with established standards.
- Assists in year-end W2 preparation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is required to be successful in this role.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of accounting/ payroll/ benefits experience
1 year of prior experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree
- Professional certification such as FPC or CPP
- 2 years of previous accounting/ payroll/ benefits experience
- Experience with ADP ProBusiness and/or PeopleSoft application
- Experience with case management systems
- Demonstrated customer service skills, attention to detail and decision making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
