McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Payroll Coordinator in our Richmond office.
Responsibilities:
* Reviews/approved payroll deductions. Runs edit reports in WorkBrain and clears the open items with the appropriate manager
* Runs the WorkBrain payroll report and load into UltiPro. Distributes reports to outside departments
* Completes, prepares and balances special payroll processing
* Assists with the preparation of the semi-monthly 401(k) deposit within 24 hours of receipt of file from closing payroll in UltiPro
* Calculates, codes, corrects and keys reports for annual leave programs
* Maintains records of leave pay and nontaxable wages
* Sets up new employees in WorkBrain with the proper schedule, security and team
* Makes schedule changes to employees in WorkBrain
* Calculates and creates manual checks as needed
* Responds to employee inquiries about payroll and WorkBrain
* Works with the Benefits department to administer short-term disability plans. Ensures employees are not overpaid for STD program. Keys STD hours into payroll
* Reviews periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions
* Completes verifications of employment
* Calculates final paycheck amounts for terminated employees and mails them in accordance with firm policy
* Works directly with Partner Accounting on Partner draw, holdback and target benefit program
* Coordinates the check sort of live checks and emails the control lists to each office in accordance with the payroll department schedule
* Responds to all written employment verifications in a timely manner
* Handles garnishment set-up, mailing of checks and communication with employees and creditors
Qualifications:
* Requires college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Accounting degree/background a plus
* MS Word, Outlook, Elite, UltiPro, Excel and other firm provided software as necessary
* Ability to work overtime as required
* Detail oriented
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
