Jobing Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of the RN or LPN is responsible for providing quality care utilizing current clinical knowledge to provide safe resident care consistent with the standards, policies, and procedures. As a member of the care delivery team the CNA will assist nursing staff with identifying needs of residents, implementing plans of care and evaluating results. This position also involves data collection and documentation. Participates as a team member by performing additional assignments not directly related to the job description when work load requires and as requested by the team leader. Under supervision, performs restorative nursing procedures that maximize existing abilities, emphasize independence instead of dependence, and minimize the negative effects of disability with an attitude of realistic optimism. Documents observations of progression in program. Performs other duties as assigned.

All employees, if applicable, are expected to adhere to the BSHR Automobile Safety Program per policy.

Job Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent, and a graduate of a nursing assistant program are required.

State certified, Restorative C.N.A.- valid VA drivers license required.

Provides ADL assistance to residents

Provides restorative care for residents

Follows resident s care plan and completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Provides meals and nutritional supplements to residents.

Follows infection control guidelines

Follows safety policies and procedures

Follows directions of the team leader

Provides age appropriate care, education

Respects Resident s Rights
