The Managing Consultant will directs and manages the planning, design and implementation of projects and teams. Serves as the primary client contact for methodological and technical expertise and translates client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Ensures that all research projects are conducted with sound methods and approaches.
The candidate must consistently demonstrate the following over time and across multiple engagements to be considered for promotion:
- Assumes lead role in the development of new business through the contribution of substantive expertise and technical advice.
- Ability to work directly with clients to assess needs and take active role to formulate projects to meet needs.
- Candidate must demonstrate potential to contribute to and support of profitable projects.
- Candidate must demonstrate, and be recognized for, professional achievement and skill in consulting or policy research and for contribution to the advancement of knowledge, technique, or new ideas in his or her field.
- Candidate must instill confidence in his/her sponsor that (s)he is sufficiently knowledgeable, confident, and poised to independently represent the firm and its work to the public.
- Candidate must demonstrate the ability to build, lead, and fully utilize a cohesive team of dedicated staff. Candidate must serve as a role model and mentor to staff, guide their professional development, and undertake reasonable measures to retain staff.
- Expertise in Federal health policy and knowledge of the programs and missions of federal agencies required. Experience working with CMS, ONC and AHRQ particularly valuable.

Skills / Requirements
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. with approximately 7+ years of relevant experience
- Managed a staff of 4+ individuals
- Lead cross-functional project teams
- Client engagement and development
- Business development including writing proposals and/or grants
- Work with federal health policy and programs
