Manager Supplier Diversity

Summary:

This position manages and implements Capital One's Award Winning Supplier Diversity Program by partnering and interacting with Global Procurement Services, diverse suppliers, internal business stakeholders and external organizations. Reporting to a Director Global Procurement Services, the position provides leadership in generating support and development of Supplier Diversity, analytical research and supplier pre-qualifications. Responsible for Supplier Diversity outreach, including national, regional and local minority- and woman-owned business organizations and associations. Produces accurate and effective Supplier Diversity reporting for potential distribution to internal and external interests. Manages a team that is responsible for Sub-contractor engagement, Supplier Diversity development and mentoring, Tier II program, data collection, project meetings/deadlines, industry analysis and monthly metrics reporting. Develops and performs Supplier Diversity training. Leads in identifying and vetting qualified diverse suppliers for corporate wide strategic sourcing and general contracting. Provides guidance to direct reports and delivers results through others. Recommends process improvements and establishes procedures to ensure the Supplier Diversity Program is effective and efficient. Understands current business strategy and external trends impacting Supplier Diversity. Acts as an internal consultant on matters related to Supplier Diversity. Develops and manages outreach activities and schedules within an established program budget. Often must participate in and contribute to sourcing projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the day to day management and growth of Capital One's Supplier Diversity Program.

- Endeavor to deliver year over year Supplier Diversity Program growth in an effective and efficient manner.
- Assist in development and execution of category/supplier strategies to ensure diverse partner utilization.
- Manage an established Supplier Diversity Program budget.
- Partner with appropriate internal and external stakeholders including key organizations.
- Monitor and ensure successful diverse supplier delivery against contractual obligations. Manage diverse supplier mentoring and development efforts.
- Produce regular performance related reporting for internal stakeholders
- Manage on-boarding/off-boarding of diverse suppliers.
- Plan and conduct periodic diverse supplier communication sessions to provide visibility into procurement opportunities.
- Partner with appropriate stakeholders on sourcing activities to encourage diverse supplier utilization.

- Maintain constant awareness of external marketplace as it relates Supplier Diversity and communicate trends, regulatory actions etc.
- Travel to local, regional and national Supplier Diversity related events and outreach
- Promote a continuous improvement culture
- Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- At least a Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 year of Supplier Diversity program management, supply chain management, procurement or related business management experience.
- At least 3 years people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree
- Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity Certification (CPSD)
- Project Management experience
- Demonstrated outstanding communication and relationship building, good business judgment on community and commercial issues, strong problem identification and problem resolution, analytical abilities, ability to influence others
- Demonstrated ablility to influence and persuade senior management, provide clear project guidance to customers, and collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Excellent Supplier Diversity subject matter expertise and relevant experience in supplier identification, negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management
- Ability to quickly build ad hoc teams to resolve problems or issues, as needed, manage multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment, generate and pursue ideas, and build strong internal and external relationships
- 5 years of Supplier Diversity program management, supply chain management, procurement or related business management experience.
