The Global Procurement Services team:

- Provides professional procurement resources, tools, methodologies and judgment to business units to "get the right deal with the right supplier"

*Leads major sourcing and outsourcing initiatives through a robust sourcing process
- Manages transaction-related communications, negotiations, and contract development with third party suppliers in conjunction with and on the behalf of internal customers and the Capital One Legal Department
- Provides oversight on supplier transactions to ensure that Capital One captures appropriate value for the company and meets acceptable corporate risk-profiles
- Ensures that Capital One's supplier transactions are rigorous, transparent, objective, documented and compliant with internal procurement policies and relevant banking regulations

The Global Procurement Services team works with various lines of business at Capital One to evaluate prospective supplier relative to pricing, capabilities, risks and corporate fit. We engage with stakeholder groups to ensure that a selection is rigorous and meets corporate objectives.

Sourcing Manager Roles and Responsibilities

Given the current economic environment, the Sourcing Manager role is a critical one to ensure that Capital One is effectively and efficiently managing spend with third parties. . This individual's contributions will ensure that purchases are grounded in analytics and meet the needs of the business. This includes market pricing and that their internal customers receive quality products and services at a fair price.

The persons filling these roles will be individual contributors on sourcing projects across multiple categories. Potential areas of focus include, IT, Contingent Labor, Corporate Real Estate and/or Banking. They will support larger sourcing efforts and will play a lead role on small to medium size efforts. The typical sourcing Manager will manage a concurrent portfolio of 5-12 sourcing projects.

As a Sourcing Manager at Capital One, the individual is expected to manage supplier communications, request for proposals (and related due diligence), spend and cost analytics, supply market analysis, and pricing strategy. Ideally, they would also lead commercial contract negotiations. A Sourcing Manager is expected to act as a central point of contact for a transaction and is responsible for engaging all the internal stakeholders relevant to a given supplier transaction. In addition, the Sourcing Manager is responsible for ensuring that Global Procurement Services (GPS) policies are followed and adequately documented for all of their transactions.

The Capital One environment is collaborative and this position will work actively with a variety of teams when selecting third parties for Capital One.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

-At least a Bachelor's Degree
-At least 1 year experience in project management
-At least 3 years of strategic sourcing experience in IT, Contingent Labor, Corporate Real Estate and/or Banking.
-At least 3 years of negotiation experience
-At least 3 years of senior level communication experience

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience sourcing services desired
-Excellent communications skills
-A strong process focus
-Ability to multi-task across multiple projects
-Past Supplier Relationship Management experience helpful but not necessary
-Proven negotiation skills
-MBA
-Past experience sourcing in Financial Services industry desired but not necessary
-CPM or CPSM Certification
