IT Manager
IT Manager position with Capital One Services, LLC in Richmond, VA; Multiple positions available:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the design and implementation of IT development projects supporting a variety of UNIX and PC hardware, operating systems and ancillary products.
- Review project plans, confirm requirements, and develop and interpret user database software and enterprise networks and infrastructure administration needs against organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the analysis, design, and technical documentation of enterprise databases utilizing knowledge of TCP/IP communications including firewalls, switching, routing, and load balancing; DMZ security; deployment, use, and troubleshooting in Windows 2000/2003, RHEL Linux 4.x, 5.x ,HPUX , and VMware environments.
- Plan and coordinate project activity in accordance with engineering standards of design.
- Drive usage of standard technology, including MS Visio, MS Word, and MS, completing research and training to better understand internal customer requirements.
- Manage user support for computer problems.
- Manage cross-functional cooperation and problem solving projects in coordination with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Present solutions at infrastructure design review.
- Participate in staffing decisions, train, and supervise staff of 2 IT professionals.
Qualifications
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field and two years of experience in UNIX based enterprise networks and infrastructure administration.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, will accept three years of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related technical field and one year of experience in an IT field.
Alternatively, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will also accept any combination of academic coursework evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Position also requires the following skill set, as evidenced by experience or academic coursework: databases; TCP/IP communications including firewalls, switching, routing, and load balancing; DMZ security; deployment, use, and troubleshooting in Windows 2000/2003, RHEL Linux 4.x, 5.x ,HPUX , and VMware environments; MS Visio; MS Word; and MS.
Must pass company's analytical assessment.
