Executive Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

Serves as principal executive assistant to the Director of the Marketing and Research Group, a subordinate agency of the Component Review Board Agency which is a Field Operating Agency (FOA) of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA M&RA). Responsible for the direction and performance of all administrative support functions and associated managerial tasks within the Office of the Director of the AMRG.

DUTIES:

Responsible for the direction and performance of all the administrative support functions and associated managerial tasks. Develops and implements efficient and effective administrative policies and procedures. Establishes, receives, screens and maintains the Director, AMRG schedule of appointments, meetings, conferences, speaking engagements and other commitments. Establishes and maintains office files and review all correspondence and action papers prepared for the Director. Makes travel arrangements, prepares itineraries and manage travel vouchers.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0301-11 level, all applicants must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-0301-09). Specialized experience is defined as: knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of programs within the organization; knowledge to develop and implement efficient and effective administrative policies and procedures; ability to analyze, evaluate and implement administrative management guidance essential to the direction and operation of the organization.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.

Time in Grade Restriction: Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-0301-09 grade (or equivalent).

Experience may be substituted for or combined with higher-level education at the following levels:

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts if substituting experience with education).

One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e. retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8416(b)(1)(A) of title 5, United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate.
