Description
The Director will manage financial and strategic analyses of specific potential merger & acquisition transactions, as well as more generally manage the evaluation of financial and strategic considerations relating to businesses that Capital One operates or may consider entering. The Director will be a key team member in support of Capital One's overall corporate goals. He or she will be responsible for acting as the primary liaison with other areas of Capital One on these assignments to drive an integrated perspective to the analysis. These areas will include the business lines, the corporate strategy group and the finance and legal departments. In addition, the Director may be involved in partnerships and business or asset divestitures. The Director will manage all transaction phases, including negotiation, structuring, due diligence, contracting and integration planning.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day processes of potential transactions
- Write and deliver communications to executive audiences
- Structure a process and all necessary analysis efficiently to ensure a streamlined comprehensive process and accurate conclusions with an economy of time and effort
- Work collaboratively with a cross-functional project or deal team
- Work with outside counterparties as appropriate (including target companies and external financial, consulting or legal advisors)
- Direct the team to create and maintain financial models for acquisitions, partnerships, or divestitures

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years experience in investment banking or corporate mergers and acquisitions

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics)
- Master's degree
- Financial services advisory experience, especially retail banking or consumer finance
- Exposure to due diligence activities and experience in managing due diligence processes
- Team and project management experience, including work in some or all of the following: Valuation analysis, Merger consequences analysis, Transaction structuring
- Team and project management skills, including ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
- Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
