Contracting Executive Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

If selected for this position you will serve as Contracting Executive Assistant, GS-0301-12/ FPL 13 with the Joint-IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) in Arlington, Virginia.

DUTIES:

The major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Advise contracting division chief and deputy division chief on administration, military and civilian personnel, contracting office procedures, logistics, security, and manpower matters. Write Statements of Work, Administrative Processes Point Papers, Department of Defense (DoD) Memorandums and Letters. Conduct office management duties such as document filing, record-keeping, maintaining supplies and inventories, tracking contracting actions, managing workload assignments, and managing office calendars. Deliver trainings on administrative processes and advise on contracting business systems access and use.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Specialized experience (GS-13): To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-12). Specialized experience is defined as: ( 1) Assist in the record-keeping, supply, and inventory management for an office; (2) Utilize contracting business systems in order to enter and retrieve data; and (3) Present findings and briefings to office staff.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.

Time in Grade Restriction: Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).

Specialized experience (GS-12): To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-11). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Identify potential administrative issues and develop effective solutions in order to provide administrative support; and (2) Advise on use of administrative computer systems by agency administrative personnel (i.e. Automated Time Attendance and Production System).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.

Time in Grade Restriction: Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).

One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.

In accordance with section 9902(h) of title 5, United States Code, annuitants reemployed in the Department of Defense shall receive full annuity and salary upon appointment. They shall not be eligible for retirement contributions, participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, or a supplemental or redetermined annuity for the reemployment period. Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e. retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8416(b)(1)(A) of title 5, United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate.
