Description: Position Responsibilities
Manage claims in multiple jurisdictions
Analyze first reports and make appropriate contacts
Investigate and document claims accurately and on a timely basis
Maintain well documented file notes as well as hard file documentation
Negotiate and settle claims within own authority or supervision granted authority
Evaluate exposures and set accurate and timely reserves
Identify and resolve issues with assistance from supervisor
Effectively control the use, quality and expense of outside vendors
Effectively manage claims inventory and claims to an acceptable resolution
Participate in assigned Cats or special duty, as necessary
Adhere to all regulations and Unfair Claims Practices Acts
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Articulate in written and oral communication
Demonstrated commitment to delivering high caliber customer claim service
Developing listening and negotiation skills
Developing organizational skills to manage own claim inventory under moderate to full supervision
Developing knowledge and attention to detail in insurance contracts and coverage, in investigating less complex to moderately complex claims, applying applicable laws, and setting timely and accurate reserves
Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships with a wide spectrum of people internally and externally
Team player that is willing to learn and share knowledge within a team environment
Must obtain and maintain necessary licenses
Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
