Description
The Enterprise Real Time Messaging team is in need of a Senior Business Analyst. Real Time Messaging (RTM) is Capital One's Middleware messaging layer which supports customer servicing applications by updating and retrieving data from a variety of backend systems of record.
The RTM BSA's primary role is to gather, elicit and publish technical System Requirements for the RTM platform. RTM BSAs work with business and IT BSAs, Architects and Tech Leads to ensure System Requirements satisfy project business requirements and are aligned with RTM's standards and long-term objectives. The BSA may also participate in scope-shaping exercises with Integrated BSAs, Architects & Tech Leads to provide high-level effort estimates for RTM service development. Additionally, the BSA is accountable for reviewing data transformation documentation to support design and development. Specifically,
- Works individually on projects of up to medium size or as a team member on medium-to-complex projects
- Elicits and prioritizes Business and System Requirements in consultation with the customer and all relevant stakeholders up to and including the sponsor
- Documents and maintains System Requirements to internal standards
- Conducts reviews of System Requirements documentation and participates in reviews of other project artifacts
- Owns requirements management and refinement through phases of the project lifecycle, including ownership of requirements traceability and carries out updates to documents arising from defects found in the design and construction phases
- Communicates with the development team and proactively raises, clarifies and follows up on issues
- Contributes to team Requirements Management activities and processes
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- 3 Years experience in IT projects
- 2 Year experience in Business Systems Analysis and Design
Preferred Qualifications
- A general understanding of WebServices and Service Oriented Architectures is a plus.
- A general understanding of the architectural standards and technologies used by RTM BSAs is a plus (Altova XMLSpy, Quality Center, ClearQuest and message modeling)
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math or Science
