The First Home Care team has developed an integrated continuum of care which includes Therapeutic Foster Care, School-Based Programming, Alternative Day School and Outpatient Counseling. First Home Care currently has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Business Office Support Specialist to work with our Business Office in the Portsmouth, VA area.
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
Verifies and maintains records of client eligibility upon review of authorization status.
Problem solves and corrects complex authorization and data entry issues for resolution.
Maintains knowledge of the various workings, eligibility and authorization requirements of the various Medicaid and non-Medicaid payer sources.
Serves as primary back up to VA Business Office Representative for claim generation.
Requirements
The following are the job requirements for the Business Office Support Specialist position:
High School diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of experience in a health care setting. Medicaid and managed care experience preferred.
Must have excellent communication and organization skills with ability to interact, obtain, and maintain knowledge of billing and authorization procedures and software application.
