Description

3M Cogent, Inc., an industry leader in the development of biometric identification systems, supports a worldwide customer base which includes law enforcement, civil government, and commercial customers. We are looking for a qualified Project Manager to work with our growing customer base. Project Manager responsibilities span all project phases including planning, organizing, direction, coordination and ensuring team compliance with tasks. This position is located at 3M Cogent in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Job Summary

* Maintains Project Schedule and ensures deliverables are completed in a timely manner
* Oversees Project cost control and projections
* Supervise staff assigned projects
* Knowledgeable in the use of Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project) used for activity assignment, resource planning, and cost control
* Ensures the invoicing process provides the proper information and distribution on the invoices
* Ensures smooth coordination consistent with the contract and task order procedures
* Ensures problem resolution and customer satisfaction for individual task orders
* Works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including
* Has high level of diverse technical experience related to studying and analyzing systems needs
* High level of systems development and systems process analysis, design and re-engineering
* Has skills and experience related to business management and software engineering life cycles
* Typically has specialization in particular software or business application utilized in an end user environment
* Knowledgeable in technological developments and applications
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
* Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
* Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently

Qualifications

Basic/Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
* Experience with projects involving the development and deployment of integrated windows based solution
* 3+ years in supervision of substantial IT projects within the past two (2) years
* Experience with CMMI Level II using ProcessMax a plus
* Working knowledge of IT Project Management best practices and Project Management Institute (PMI) methods
* Advanced to Expert skill with Microsoft Project
